Waters and Suares claim Wimbledon Cup titles
The 2017/18 BSPA season got under way this weekend with the Wimbledon Cup, which has been running since 1937 making this the 80th edition !
It was the top seeds who contested the women’s final, Alison Waters beating Millie Tomlinson in four games to take the title, but there was a surprise winner in the men’s as Portugal’s Rui Soares, having beaten top seed Nathan Lake in the semis, followed it up with victory in five close games over second seed Lyell Fuller to claim his first BSPA title.
