Paul Kerensa & Andrew Watts

MC Chris Brooker

Writer for BBC1’s Miranda and Not Going Out, among countless others, Paul Kerensa’s the in-demand comic who plays comedy clubs and cathedrals. He’s one of the few to have appeared both at London’s Comedy Store and on Radio 2’s Pause For Thought. A decade into his stand-up career, Paul’s one-man show has played to packed-out churches and other venues over the last few years, including festivals from Spring Harvest, Greenbelt and New Wine, to the Edinburgh Fringe and Montreal Comedy Festival.

‘If I was a joke thief, I would be shinning up Paul Kerensa’s drainpipe.’ Milton Jones

“A great event for us. It was very easy to bring our friends to and I thoroughly recommend him.” Rev Roger Simpson, St Michael-le-Belfry

‘A comic wave that just keeps coming … As effortless a writer as he is a performer.’ The Stage

‘Paul Kerensa’s writing never fails to be uniquely funny and interesting. TV comedy is richer for Paul being a part of it.’ Miranda Hart

Andrew Watts has a distinctive style and very original material, both of which mark him out as one to watch for the future. His posh boy humour is intelligent without distancing himself from the audience. Lawyer turned comedian, Andrew is extremely likable and invariably wins a crowd over as he canters through challenging subjects like an apologetic tsunami. He is also famous for once buying lavender from a drug dealer in Brixton. His 2014 Edinburgh show ‘Feminism for Chaps’ received critical acclaim (***** Chortle) and a full house all run. His two previous full-length Edinburgh shows, ‘I wish I could be like Andrew Watts’ and ‘Born to Be Mild’, both received four-star reviews. As seen on ITV’s Stand-Up Hero and Comedy Central’s The World Stands Up.

“An enticing blend of honest storytelling and dark humour” (Independent on Sunday)

“His distinctive style stands out – a winning mixture of pomposity, insecurity and emotional incompetence, while the fury-inducing importance he places on the trivial makes for a winning comic stance.” chortle.co.uk

“Lovers of stand-up laced with a cerebral cutting-edge should, without further prevarication, flock to his show” Three Weeks ****

Chris Brooker

One of comedy’s heavy hitters, Chris Brooker’s infectious energy and enthusiasm sweeps through a room like an irresistible force. Chris’ combination of hilarious, original material and inspired improvisation means that you will never see the same routine twice. Immensely likeable, there’s no doubting his ability to win over any crowd and drag them along for the ride.

Chris has forged himself a fine reputation as a stand-up comedian, in particular as one of the country’s best up and coming comperes. A member of ComedySportz, the resident improv troupe at Manchester’s Comedy Store, Chris made history when he became the first British performer to be chosen for the All Star team at the annual World Championships in Portland, Oregon. A veteran performer in the UK, Chris has also performed in the U.S. and Canada, most famously when he was invited to participate in the Yuk Yuk’s “Great Canadian Laugh Off” in Toronto.

A regular on the radio waves in and around Manchester, Chris also has three full length solo shows under his belt. “Path Of Least Resistance”, “Please Hold, Chris Brooker Knows You Are Waiting” and “Unstoppable” have all received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike.

“Very funny, very quick… On the spot humour.” BBC

“A fitting finale, had the audience in stitches.” StudentOnline

“The best act of the night, his quick wit silencing hecklers and getting plenty of laughs.” Manchester Evening News
