Badminton Committee look forward to opening

From the Badminton Committee

It’s been too long…but, like you, we’re counting the days until we can get on court again!

And whilst we’re obviously a bit dependent on Boris to confirm the exact dates, our plan, based on the current guidelines, is for a reopening in 3 phases, as follows:

Phase I (No earlier than 12 April)

  • Households are able to book courts (online or at Reception from 11am, 2 weeks in advance), and we welcome back all the coached junior sessions; Academy sessions from Tuesday 20th (Stuart will be emailing the Academy parents separately)  and all Saturday junior sessions to run from 24th

The club will be open from 9am to 9pm every day, except Monday and Friday.

Phase 2  (No earlier than 17 May)

  • Anyone can book a court for either up to 6 people or for two households, and we will be able to run our “Rule of 6” adult graded sessions again, where you stay on the same court with 5 other people for the evening. Maximum 24 people per session, bookings will be taken by Reception, up to 1 week in advance.
  • In this phase we also plan to reintroduce the Sunday beginners and improvers session and the Thursday morning social session.

The club will be open from 9am to 11pm every day.

Phase III – (Maybe from 21st June)

  • No more rules or restrictions on numbers; normal summer adult graded sessions will begin (pay upfront, or pay as you play).

The club want to open from 7am to 11pm every day.

We’re clearly staying closely tuned in to both Boris and Badminton England; as soon we get more clarity, we will come back to you and update you on plans.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank you once again for the tremendous support that you’ve shown for your Club during these difficult times for everyone.

So, we are very much keeping our fingers crossed that the re-opening happens as planned, and are looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks’ time.

Until then, all the best!

The Badminton Committee.
