Frequently asked questions

We have tried to answer the most frequently asked questions below. If you can't find something on the website however, please feel free to contact us. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will be happy to assist you with your enquiries.

How can I find other members of my standard to play squash with?

The majority of squash played at the club are league matches. A box league runs for 6 ish weeks and you get to play all those in your league. Come along to any club session (Sat club night or Sunday beginners & Improvers) to find your level.

How do I find out what league /level I should go into for squash?

Contact the club head pro Phil Rushworth and come to a club session (Sat club night / Sunday beginners & improvers)

How much are court fees?

Badminton courts are booked by the hour and the fee is £7.00.

Squash courts are booked in 40 min slots and the fee is £3.40 per person

Members get a 20% discount when using "club credit" either booking in person, on the phone for via the web.

As a new member, how do I find playing partners of the same ability as me?

Thanks for asking this one, we get this a lot (!) the club staff, badminton and squash coaches are very skilled at finding the right level for you at the club, initially we suggest coming to the Beginners and Improver's sessions on Sunday evening (Badminton 5-7pm & Squash from 4.30pm). If you can't make Sundays then there are other sessions you can come to as a non member - just ask any member of staff.

Can I try out the club first before I decide to join?

Yes, you can attend any one of the weekly badminton or squash sessions as a non member to get a feel for the place, meet the coaches and find out about how the club can suit your needs. Unfortunately, mainly due to safety issues, we do not allow non members access to the gym. All new members must complete a gym induction and complete a pre-exercise questionnaire. Thanks for your understanding.

How much is membership?

The club has a range of flexible membership options to suit you. Our most popular full adult membership is £32.25 a month with no time period contract. Initial joining fees apply. Junior membership is £110 per year. Contact the club for more details or visit anytime to have a closer look around.
