The Board has continued its review of operations and financial matters, as well as working with the badminton and squash committees and the managers to increase membership. We are pleased to report that the number of participants in the squash leagues has hit the highest that can be recalled.
Various repairs and improvements to facilities have been undertaken and this process will continue. The repairs and maintenance status report published on the Club’s website provides information on these matters including current refurbishment arrangements.
It remains the intention to carry out a survey of members and staff.
The Board has decided on its recommendation regarding voting procedures and will shortly be reporting this to members. The next step will be to hold a meeting to obtain members’ views.
Finally, and belatedly, we report that Ernesto Pinto resigned from the Board in September for personal reasons and the remaining directors thank him for his contribution. Initially the Board considered co-opting a replacement but have now decided to leave the vacancy to be filled by election, by the Club’s members at the next AGM, to be held on 23 May 2012. We apologise to Ernesto, members and staff for any inconvenience caused by this late notification of his standing down.
