WHAT IS THE FULL ADDRESS AND POSTCODE OF THE CLUB?

Wimbledon Racquets and Fitness Club, Cranbrook Road, London SW19 4HD.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE A BADMINTON/SQUASH/GYM ONLY MEMBERSHIP, AS I AM ONLY INTERESTED IN ONE ACTIVITY?

All the club memberships (full, off peak, student, young adult) entitle you to use the gym and facilities (saunas, showers, lockers) with the added privilege of booking rights to the squash and badminton courts.

DO YOU HAVE TO BE A VERY GOOD STANDARD TO PLAY SQUASH OR BADMINTON?

No, not at all… whilst we have some very good international standard players there are club sessions catering for all standards from absolute beginners to every level in between.

The main point of it all is to enjoy yourself!

MY SON/DAUGHTER HAS SHOWED AN INTEREST IN PLAYING BADMINTON/SQUASH CAN I BRING HER DOWN TO TRY IT OUT?

Yes, of course! We have “drop in” coaching sessions for both sports and he/she can try it out before deciding to join the club. The club can provide hire racquets and (all) we ask is that your son/daughter wears clean, non-marking sports footwear on our lovely courts.

DOES MY SON/DAUGHTER HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO COME ALONG TO THE JUNIOR COACHING SESSIONS?

No, if he/she would like to try it out first, they are very welcome to join in as a non-member.

After 3 visits we would like to encourage them to join, and offer a Junior Membership plan at a very reasonable cost.

All junior coaching sessions are subsidised by the club and the membership fees go towards making sure the sessions have the correct levels of supervision.

As a junior member your son/daughter can book courts, get reduced court fees, and invite friends to the club.

For membership queries please contact carol@wimbledonclub.co.uk

I USED TO BE A MEMBER MANY YEARS AGO, CAN I COME BACK WITHOUT PAYING THE JOINING FEE AGAIN?

Yes, great to hear from you again, if its less than 5 years then please just re-activate your membership by paying the annual sub/monthly direct debit. Contact carol@wimbledonclub.co.uk if you have any questions.

CAN I TRY OUT THE CLUB FIRST BEFORE I DECIDE TO JOIN?

Yes, you can attend any one of the weekly badminton or squash sessions as a non member to get a feel for the place, meet the coaches and find out about how the club can suit your needs.

Unfortunately, mainly due to safety issues, we do not allow non-members access to the gym.

All new members must complete a gym induction and a pre-exercise questionnaire. Thanks for your understanding.

I HAVE SOME FRIENDS STAYING WITH ME FOR A SHORT WHILE, IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A MEMBERSHIP FOR THEM?

Yes, we’ll always try and work something out for you in terms of temporary membership for friends, contact carol@wimbledonclub.co.uk for details.

HOW MUCH IS MEMBERSHIP?

The club has a range of flexible membership options to suit you.

Our most popular full adult membership is £36.00 a month with no time period contract.

Junior membership is £120 per year.

Initial joining fees apply for adults, but the fee is waived for juniors and young adults under the age of 18. Upfront payment is cheaper over the course of 1 year but is non-refundable if you leave early.

CAN I SUSPEND MY MEMBERSHIP TEMPORARILY IF I GO ON HOLIDAY/AM AWAY?

No.

CAN I PLAY SQUASH OR BADMINTON AT THE CLUB AS A NON MEMBER?

Yes, you can play at certain club sessions.

For badminton, non-members may attend the Sunday beginners & improvers @ 5-7pm held every week.

It costs £12 for non-members and includes organised games and/or coaching & shuttles. This is a great way to find out more about the club, meet the coaches etc.
