Badminton Committee

 1. The Badminton Committee consists of 5 members, plus the Match Secretary and the Junior Section Co-ordinator.

2. The members of the Committee are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting of the Badminton Section. Nominations for vacant positions on the Committee should be received 72 hours before the AGM; candidates may be required to explain the skills, experiences and knowledge they would bring to the Committee. Additional members may be co-opted during the year, if necessary.

3. Committee meetings take place on a regular basis (every 4 to 6 weeks) and are attended by the Club Professional and, when possible, the Club Manager. The minutes of all such meetings are published on the web (see below) & the Club notice-board.

4. The functions of the Committee are:-

Organise and monitor Club session and grading procedures (including court & shuttle allocation, setting session fees, etc.)

Organise and promote internal Club tournaments

Organise and promote participation in leagues (including team selection procedures, and costings)

Represent the wider interests of the badminton-playing community at the Club

5. Sessions representatives – Each of the five main sessions (A, B+, B, C+ and C grades) has a session representative who is elected by the members of each session. A session representative may also be a member of the committee, but only if elected at the AGM or co-opted by the committee during the year.
